Heat is scorching many areas of Bihar. The number of patients falling sick due to heat wave is increasing in the hospital. On Friday, a red alert for heat wave (Bhisma Ushna Heat Wave) has been issued at some places in the state’s Buxar, Aurangabad, Kaimur, Rohtas districts. The weather department has issued an orange alert for nine districts including Bhojpur, Arwal, Gaya, Saran, Jehanabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Siwan, Vaishali and has expressed the possibility of heat wave in these districts. According to the weather department, hot days are likely in one or two places in the north west, north central, south east of the state.

Thunderstorms and strong winds with speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are being reported at one or two places in North Central, North East and South East. During the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 47.2 degree Celsius was recorded in Buxar in the state. While 9 districts namely Gaya, Buxar, Bhojpur, Vaishali, Aurangabad, Jiradei, Rajgir, Nawada and Arwal were reeling under the heat wave. The Meteorological Department has predicted light to moderate rainfall at one or two places in Araria, Kishanganj, Supaul, Purnia, Madhubani and Katihar districts on Friday.

Buxar remained the hottest district

The districts where maximum temperatures were recorded above 40 degree Celsius during the last 24 hours are Patna 41.8, Gaya 45.7, Chapra 43.0, Dehri 45.2, Motihari 40.1, Sheikhpura 43.0, Gopalganj 42.3, Jamui 41.5, Buxar 47.2, Bhojpur 46.3, Vaishali 45.6, Aurangabad 45.8, Nawada 44.0, Rajgir 44.5, Jiradei 44.0, Arwal 46.0, Bikramganj 45.0 and Munger 40.6 degree Celsius. Along with this, the temperature was recorded at 37.7 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur, 33.4 in Purnia, 39.2 in Valmiki Nagar, 36.4 in Muzaffarpur, 38.1 in Banka, 33.2 in Katihar, 36.2 in Pusa, 36.0 in Darbhanga, 34.6 in Supaul, 34.2 in Forbesganj, 37.5 in Madhubani, 37.5 in Begusarai, 32.7 in Araria and 31.0 degrees Celsius in Kishanganj.

Forecast of rain in one or two places in the eastern part

Dry north-western wind is blowing especially in South Bihar since last 7th June. Dry wind blows up to a height of 7 feet and cleans the atmosphere. Sunshine strikes the earth with full power. Due to this, the temperature rises rapidly. Due to all this, conditions like severe heat and heat wave have been created. During the last 24 hours, except the northern part, the weather of rest of Bihar remained dry. The maximum rainfall of 64.2 mm was recorded in Dhingra Ghat Purnia district. In South Bihar, people are troubled by hot westerly wind during the day and humid heat at night. Most of the parts of the state including the capital remained in the grip of heat wave. Especially Vaishali, Patna, Gaya, Chhapra, Dehri, Gopalganj, Jamui, Vikramganj, Arwal and Nalanda etc. remained in the grip of heat wave, while entire Arwal from Bhojpuri remained in the grip of severe wave. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a forecast of light rain with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the eastern part of Bihar. That is, clouds will be seen till Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Kishanganj, Bhagalpur. Gradually the clouds will increase. On June 16, clouds will be seen in most parts of Bihar and rain is predicted at some places.
