The water level of five rivers of North Bihar including Gandak, Kosi, Bagmati, Budhi Gandak and Parmar has crossed the red mark. Not only this, Ganga is also in spate in Patna. The water level of Ganga river at Digha Ghat in Patna is 3 cm and at Gandhi Ghat it is 66 cm above the red danger mark. At the same time the water level of Ganga is 43 cm above the red mark at Hathidah in Begusarai district and 19 cm above the red mark at Kahalgaon in Bhagalpur district. At the same time a rise of 6 cm has been recorded in the water level of Son river at Koilwar Ghat.
Bind Toli area in Patna got submerged
Here, Patna district administration is taking adequate measures to prevent floods in low lying areas. Sand bags have been placed on the river front at Gandhi Ghat. Bind Toli area near Kurji is completely submerged. Flood water has entered Ganga Tower near LCT Ghat. According to the report, flood water is spreading in low lying areas of 20 blocks of Patna. The district administration is completely on alert mode. Patna District Magistrate Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh said that the water level of the rivers is being monitored. Low lying areas are being continuously monitored.
Alert of rain and thunderstorm in these 23 districts
The weather department has issued an alert of rain and thunderstorm in 23 districts including Bihar. According to the weather department, light to moderate rain may occur in some parts of Patna, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Darbhanga, Madhubani, West and East Champaran, Siwan, Saran Gopalganj, Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Aurangabad, Arwal, Jehanabad, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Khagaria, Saharsa, Madhepura in the next one to three hours. The wind speed here is expected to be 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. The weather department has also issued an alert of thunderstorm in these areas.
