Drops of relief have fallen from the sky in many districts including Patna. Light rain fell in many areas of Patna on Wednesday evening. Moderate rain on Thursday early morning brought relief from the humid heat. But, the problem of waterlogging arose on the roads in many areas of Patna. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 30 districts including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Saran today. Light to moderate thunder and lightning is forecast in one to three hours in many areas of Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Araria, Madhepura, Saharsa, Munger, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Bhagalpur, Jamui, East Champaran, Patna, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, Arwal, Gaya, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Buxar, Rohtas. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in these areas. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to avoid going out with their livestock and themselves during bad weather. Do not take shelter under trees and plants during thunderstorms. Go and sit in a safe place during rain.

There is a drop in the temperature

If we look at the assessment of rainfall in the last 4 years in the whole of Bihar, then the monsoon season from June 1 to July 31 was 45% less than normal in 2020, 19% more than normal in 2021, 39% in 2022 and 48% less than normal in 2023. The Meteorological Center believes that due to sporadic rains in many districts of the state, the maximum temperature is falling. In almost all the districts of the state, the temperature was recorded below 40 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. The highest maximum temperature was 38.5 degrees in Gopalganj, while it was 36.2 in Patna, 35.5 in Gaya, 36.2 in Bhagalpur, 36.2 in Purnia, 36.4 in Balmiki Nagar, 35.7 in Muzaffarpur, 35.0 in Chhapra, 36.3 in Darbhanga, 37.0 in Supaul, 36.5 in Forbesganj, 36.2 in Dehri, 34.0 in Madhubani, 35.7 in Motihari, 36.0 in Sheikhpura, 37.4 in Jamui, 36.3 in Buxar, 36.0 in Bhojpur, 36.5 in Samastipur, 36.2 in Vaishali, 37.6 in Aurangabad, 33.3 in Begusarai, 37.0 in Banka, 36.2 in Katihar 35.4, Nawada 37.6, Rajgir 37.5, Araria 36.1, Jiradei 36.2, Pusa 36.0, Kishanganj 35.5, Arwal 36.4, Bikramganj 32.0 and Munger 38.1 degrees Celsius were recorded as the temperatures.

Rain is forecast in these areas

If we look at the weather system, the monsoon’s Akshay Rekha is extending from Ganganagar, Hisar, Dehri to the Northeast Bay of Bengal today. Apart from this, there was cyclonic circulation around Jharkhand. Now it is spread up to 3.8 kilometers above sea level over West Bengal and surrounding areas. Due to these two weather systems, light to moderate rainfall is forecast in the southern part of Bihar including the capital Patna during the next 48 hours from today, while moderate rainfall is forecast at one or two places in the Terai region of North Bihar, while light rainfall is forecast in the rest of North Bihar.
