A similar case was seen at the Rajauli check post in Nawada district, where the police were left stunned. Actually, a woman smuggler has been arrested at the Rajauli check post located on the interstate border. The team of the prohibition and excise department has arrested a woman smuggler with foreign liquor and beer during the search of a bus.
According to the information, the excise team had received information about a female smuggler gang smuggling liquor by bus. On the information, Superintendent of Prohibition Arun Kumar Mishra had instructed to strictly check the bus and conduct a thorough search. In this connection, the investigation team stopped a bus named Shri Siyaram Rath coming from Jharkhand at the check post for investigation. During the thorough search, a woman who was wearing a burqa was arrested with a bag full of liquor.
It is being told that the arrested woman smuggler was going from Koderma to Bihar Sharif with a consignment of liquor. The accused woman has been identified as Ruby Khatoon, wife of Mohammad Irfan, resident of Chhajju Mohalla of Bihar Sharif police station area of Nalanda district. A total of 30 bottles of foreign liquor were recovered from her, which included six bottles of 750 ml whiskey and 24 bottles of 500 ml beer. Its total quantity was said to be 16.5 liters. During interrogation, the woman told that she was going from Koderma to Bihar Sharif with liquor.
It is noteworthy that the local police is constantly conducting raids against liquor smugglers. Despite this, liquor dealers do not hesitate to try new ways of smuggling. The raid and search operation was led by Sub Inspector Liquor Prohibition Pintu Kumar. Assistant Sub Inspector Rakesh Kumar and lady constable Jigyasa Kumari along with other personnel were also present.
