A case of continuous rape of a woman for five years on the pretext of marriage has come to light in Darbhanga. In this regard, the victim has lodged an FIR against nine people including accused Osan Kumar in Kamtaul police station. The victim has said in the application that on May 6, 2019, Osan Kumar, son of Shatrughan Ram, resident of Karjapatti village of Kamtaul police station area, entered the house and raped me forcefully. He kept raping me by threatening me several times. I kept my mouth shut due to public shame.
The victim told in the application that a new twist came in this case when the accused called me to the famous Shyam Mai temple of Darbhanga on June 4, 2023 on the pretext of marrying me. Then he took me to a rest house and raped me again and after that he took her to Delhi and assured her of marriage. After that, as per the assurance, the accused took the victim along with his family members to Najafgarh in Delhi on 15 July 2023 by Bihar Sampark Kranti Superfast train. He raped her there too and in the meantime she became pregnant. As soon as he came to know about this, the accused got her abortion done in Delhi itself.
The victim said that when her health deteriorated in Delhi, the accused Osan Kumar left her at her home. After this, when she talked to the accused’s family, they did not agree to keep the girl. A panchayat was also held in the village regarding this matter, but the matter could not be resolved in the panchayat. Then she lodged an FIR against nine people including Osan Kumar in Kamtaul police station.
In this regard, Kamtaul police station in-charge Shalu Kumari said that an FIR has been registered on the application of the victim. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
