Expansion

Thousands of people have been affected in the double whammy of Biparjoy cyclonic storm. About 75 thousand people have been sent to safer places. The first hit will be from the landfall of the cyclonic storm and the rains or floods that occur immediately thereafter. The second hit will be felt after the fury of the cyclonic storm calms down. This beating is also no less dangerous. If precautions are not taken here, many diseases can surround people for a long time. People affected by the cyclonic storm should use reverse masks.

Have ambulances stand at short intervals

Major General (Retd) Dr. JK Bansal (VSM, Chikitsa Ratna), former member of the National Disaster Management Authority, said, it is very important to have a medical arrangement in such a situation. For this, the central and state governments have taken all necessary steps. In the aftermath of a cyclonic storm, a number of problems come to the fore. There are many people who are stuck somewhere in the middle of the road. Trees or houses have fallen around them. It is possible that they may come under the grip of an electric pole or tower. Many people also get injured. For all this, it is necessary that ambulances are stationed at small intervals. May all the means of medicine be available. Arrange for emergency surgery. Operation theaters should be kept ready. At many places, NDRF teams will also find people who have come out safely after struggling in the water. He was first provided with medical facilities. The camps to be set up in the surrounding areas should have all kinds of medical facilities. Special arrangements are made in hospitals for pregnant women and newborns.

Preventing the spread of the epidemic is a big challenge

According to Dr. JK Bansal, after the departure of Biperjoy, it is a big challenge to stop the epidemic in the affected areas. A person of any age group can come under the grip of the epidemic. When the wave of water has come, water will also accumulate in many areas. Water logging will breed mosquitoes. There is a possibility of spreading malaria. The possibility of dengue cannot be ruled out. If there is water or wetness all around, flies come in that situation. Due to this there is a danger of spread of diseases like cholera and diarrhoea. Drinking water gets contaminated, due to which ‘jaundice’ can take a severe form. Skin diseases also take people in their grip. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya is active in Biparjoy’s case. In coordination with other departments of the Centre, action is being taken to deal with the cyclone as per the guidelines laid down. Negotiations are on with all the stock holders. Based on the past experiences of cyclonic storms, ‘Best Practices’ are being adopted.

Don’t risk your life in property scam

People are shifted to other places from the areas which are affected by the cyclonic storm. There are some people who do not follow the guidelines of the government. They risk their lives while fishing or taking care of their property. People should never make such mistake. The tents or buildings in which people are kept before a cyclonic storm, there must be some effect of wind or rain. People are appealed not to venture out of their places in such a situation. Take care of cleanliness around you. Wear clothes that cover the body completely. Take care of cleanliness in the matter of food. Wash hands thoroughly before eating anything. Dirt gets stuck in the nails, take special care of it. These are small precautions, but in emergency most people forget them and fall in the grip of disease. Even though it is not practically possible for everyone to wear masks now, reverse masks should be used. This means that the person whose health is bad and because of that there is a possibility of spreading the infection, then that person must wear a mask.
