BJP seeks clarification from Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin regarding Jafar Sadiq drug case also demands NIA probe


BJP on DMK: BJP has cornered the ruling DMK government of Tamil Nadu over Jafar Sadiq, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the international drug trafficking case.

BJP on Sunday (March 10) demanded an explanation from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on the alleged involvement of former DMK functionary Jafar Sadiq in the drug smuggling case. BJP has also demanded an NI inquiry into the matter.

BJP Mahila Morcha President targets DMK

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, BJP Mahila Morcha President Vanati Srinivasan said that several reports about Jafar Sadiq, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), said that he (through the drug trafficking network) He has invested his money in the hospitality sector, film production and political donations to the ruling party of Tamil Nadu.

Vanathi Srinivasan alleged that the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu has long had close ties with the film industry and that Jaffer Sadiq had become close to the DMK leadership and had even received awards from the Director General of Police (DGP).

The Narcotics Control Bureau on Saturday (March 9) arrested film producer Zafar Sadiq in connection with the Rs 2,000 crore drug smuggling racket busted last month. Jafar Sadiq has previously been the deputy chief of DMK’s NRI wing in Chennai district. The Central Anti-Drugs Agency has termed Sadiq as the mastermind and leader of the illegal network spread across India, Australia and New Zealand.

BJP leader Vanathi Srinivasan said it appeared that Sadiq’s family members were closely associated with several other political parties that have an alliance with the current ruling party. According to HT report, Vanathi Srinivasan mentioned a Tamil film ‘Mangai’, which was directed by CM Stalin’s daughter-in-law. He alleged that Jafar Sadiq had completely financed the film.

He said that Jafar Sadiq was expelled from DMK after the news of his alleged involvement in the drug racket came to light. At the same time, BJP spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said that Stalin and Company have turned the government (DMK) into a drug marketing Kazhagam.
