Rapti river is going to become more attractive from tourism point of view. The garbage dump (Legacy Waste) at Ekla Dam on the banks of Rapti River will be developed as an island. The Municipal Corporation is busy preparing a plan for this.

The team of GreenAid Landscape Private Limited has also inspected the plan to develop river front island on Ekla Dam. Under the plan, the physical form of the river will not be tampered with.

Shrivats Sharma of GreenAid Landscape Private Limited said that instead of disposing of the remaining garbage heap at Ekla Dam on the Rapti coast, it will be developed in a natural way and given the form of an island.
