In the case of the body of Meerut resident Monu Bhatnagar found near Chola station on June 9, the family has accused relatives of murder. They say that GRP is not registering their report.

On July 10, the family held a press conference at a hotel in Gandhi Park. Father Ram Kishore Bhatnagar, a resident of Kayastha Gaonwadi, said that the headless and cut into pieces body of his only unmarried son Monu Bhatnagar (age 22 years) was found near Chola station on June 9. The family members went to the spot and identified the body.

The deceased’s uncle Ramesh Bhatnagar said that the deceased’s aunt, a resident of Khurja, brought him with her on June 4, 2024 without informing the family members. Monu wanted to go back home, but he was not allowed to come. He has accused his aunt, her son and maternal uncle of murdering Monu with the intention of usurping the property. During this, Arun Sharma, Magan Sharma, Sudhir Nehra, Mukul Bhatnagar, Prakhar, Hemant Mathur etc. were present.

GRP Inspector Jitendra Kumar says that the youth died after falling from the train. This has also been confirmed in the post-mortem report. Still, the allegations of the family are being investigated.
