bombay high court plea for kangana ranaut emergency film can be released with cuts as per Central Board of Film Certification

Emergency Release: Fans are eagerly waiting for Kangana Ranaut’s film Emergency. This film was earlier scheduled to release in theatres on 6 September but due to not getting a certificate from the censor board, the film had to be postponed. Now the release of the film has been heard in the Bombay High Court and the censor board has also responded on this.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited had alleged that the CBFC was illegally blocking ‘Emergency’. Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud, appearing for the CBFC, told the bench of Justices BP Colabawala and Firdaus Pooniwala that the CBFC’s revising committee has suggested some cuts in the film.

The film may be released with cuts
The CBFC on Thursday informed the Bombay High Court that actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s film ‘Emergency’ can be released only if certain cuts are made as per the suggestions of the film body’s revise committee.

Hearing will be held on September 30
Advocate Sharan Jagtiani, who appeared on behalf of Zee, showed a document which mentioned about 11 amendments to be made in the film before its release. The 11 suggested amendments include some cuts in the film. Now it is up to the filmmakers whether they will agree with these amendments or challenge it. Now this petition will be heard on September 30.

There was a demand to ban

Let us tell you that even before the release of the film, there was a demand for its ban. People from Punjab, Telangana, New Delhi and Uttar Pradesh had demanded a ban on the film, claiming that their community has been portrayed in a wrong way in the film and history has been tampered with.

Emergency has been directed by Kangana Ranaut. Along with her, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman and many other actors will be seen playing important roles in this film.
