Boycott Trend Started After Sushant Singh Rajput Death Says Madhur Bhandarkar

Madhur Bhandarkar On Boycott Trend: People’s anger towards the Hindi film industry has been increasing for some time now. As soon as a Hindi film is announced, there is a demand for boycott of the actress or actor or film. This culture is not new, according to Madhur Bhandarkar, this trend has increased after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020.

Fashion recently appeared on Manish Paul’s podcast show. Director Madhur Bhandarkar, who made films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, gave his opinion on many subjects. Madhur Bhandarkar told that the boycott trend is not new. However, after the death of Sushant Singh, the anger of the people has increased.

‘A small section of the audience boycotts the film’
According to Madhur Bhandarkar, the boycott trend is driven by a small section of the audience. He said, ‘I have seen that this boycott happened on a large scale after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Maybe the industry has ignored him. He was from non-filmy background, he came and he struggled. It was very unfortunate and an untimely death. From there the anger in the public increased further. This is his own opinion.

‘If the content is good then people go to see the film’
Madhur Bhandarkar said, ‘This has happened many times before. Like in the case of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, people saw it and it was good. I think the boycott culture is a phase. If the film is good and the content is strong then people will go and watch it. People saw ‘Kantara’, ‘The Kashmir Files’, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, it is not that people do not go to watch films.
