Four stages of breast cancer
first stage
In this stage the cancer is small and is in the breast tissue. At this time, treatment can be done easily and the patient’s chances of recovery are 90 percent.
second stage
Breast cancer is usually detected in the second stage. In this stage, cancer spreads to the lymph nodes apart from the breast tissue. Treatment can be done at this time and the patient’s chances of recovery are 80 percent.
third stage
This is an advanced stage of breast cancer. In this stage, apart from the breast tissue, cancer has spread to 10 lymph nodes. At this time the doctor has to decide which method will be right for treatment. The chances of the patient recovering are 60 to 70 percent.
fourth stage
This is the last stage of breast cancer where the disease spreads beyond the lymph nodes and reaches the lungs and bones. At this stage, the chances of survival of patients are 40 percent.
Treatment of breast cancer at third stage
Chemotherapy
After chemo, help of breast conserving surgery or mastectomy is taken. Breast reconstruction can be done after mastectomy. After surgery, the patient is given hormone therapy and medicines to strengthen bones.

With its help, cancer cells can be prevented from growing around the breast and they are eliminated.
hormone therapy
Hormone therapy is used in hormone receptor positive cancers. With the help of this therapy, it helps in keeping the estrogen hormone balanced in the body.
