BSNL 5G Testing: If you read and know the news of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited i.e. BSNL, then you must also know that this government telecom company of India is also doing 5G network testing. BSNL is trying to roll out 5G network in the country as soon as possible.

BSNL’s 5G network

One special thing about BSNL’s 5G network is that the company is trying to roll out 5G connectivity using indigenously manufactured technologies. This government telecom company has given a great opportunity to local technology manufacturers and suppliers to strengthen their position in the market.

In this series, companies like Galore Networks, VVDN Technologies, Lekha Wireless and WiSig are testing its 5G in collaboration with BSNL. The aim of these companies is to reduce dependence on foreign firms and reduce import bills in the long run.

Trial started in collaboration with Lekha Wireless

It is worth noting that Indian telecom company Jio has its own 5G network, but still needs help from foreign companies to roll out other 5G networks in India. According to a report by ET, Lekha Wireless is testing 5G in collaboration with BSNL on Minto Road in New Delhi.

VVDN is testing the 5G network at MTNL’s Chanakyapuri location. Meanwhile, Galore Networks is testing by deploying 5G network at three sites in Shadipur, Karol Bagh and Rajendra Nagar for MTNL in Delhi.

The report says that Galore Networks has partnered with Coral Telecom to integrate 5G with the old 3G network. The network architecture being tested is called Open RAN (Radio Access Network), where the core is being supplied by Indian vendors. These Indian vendors are confident that they will win commercial deals from BSNL in the future, under which it will roll out 5G networks in the country.
