Railway Minister of the Government of India, Ashwini Vaishnav held a press conference based on the Railways of Budget 2024-25 through video conferencing. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated record funds for Railways. Referring to the funds allocated in Railways for Bihar, he said that this year Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has allocated approximately Rs 10,032 crore for Railways in Bihar. Along with this, he said that 98 percent electrification of railways has been done in Bihar. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also said that 92 stations in Bihar are being rebuilt under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Know what Railways got in the budget
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in Thursday’s budget, it has been announced to create three major economic rail corridors for Indian Railways, which include energy, mineral and cement corridor, port connectivity corridor and high traffic corridor. To make connectivity possible with state-of-the-art models, the Prime Minister has identified these projects under Gati Shakti. This will increase the efficiency of logistics system and reduce costs. As a result, reduction in congestion in high traffic corridors will also help in improving the operation of passenger trains. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that this will increase passenger safety and speed of trains. These three economic corridors along with dedicated freight corridors will increase our GDP growth rate. Besides, to increase the convenience, comfort and safety of passengers, it has also been announced to convert 40 thousand general railway coaches as per “Vande Bharat” standards. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in the Budget 2024-25, a record amount has been allocated for railway projects, passenger convenience, safety and infrastructure upgradation of East Central Railway. In this budget (2024-25), an amount of Rs 10754 crore has been allocated for East Central Railway.
