He used to hide his cash in a stepwell built near a miraculous Hanuman statue that appeared from the ground and prayed to Hanuman ji for the protection of wealth. It is believed that the idol of Hanuman appeared from the ground during the Mughal rule. At that time this idol was of two and a half feet and has been increasing with the changing times. This is an interesting story of Rokadiya Hanuman.
Rokadiya Hanuman’s temple is located 3 kilometers away from Burhanpur district, where there is an influx of devotees every day. This temple got fame by the name of Rokadiya Hanuman after the prayers started here by the traders for the security of their wealth during the time of Mughals. Many miracles and beliefs are related to this ancient temple. According to Sandeep Shukla, the priest of the temple, Rokadiya Hanuman is self-manifested. This statue came out of the ground on its own. Shukla says that this statue was earlier two to two and a half feet, but with time its size has increased to about five feet.
The faith of the people of Burhanpur district is deeply connected with this temple. Local Santosh Singh Thakur said that this is a self-manifested Hanuman idol. All wishes are fulfilled by worshiping Rokadiya Hanuman and devotees feel positive energy in the temple premises.
