What the world knows about them so far

The Sentinelese people are the people of the Negrito community living on the North Sentinel Island of Andaman. Even today they remain completely isolated without any contact with the outside world. However, in the year 1991, when the Government of India tried to contact these people, this tribal community had taken some coconuts from a team of Indian anthropologists and administrators. But these coconuts were also taken by these people from far away. Due to lack of any kind of contact with the Sentinelese people, their census is done from a distance through their photographs. Their population is between 50 and 100 on North Sentinel Island.
