Citizenship Amendment Act: Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria has reacted to the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 by the Modi government. He has thanked PM Modi. Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in India this year. Before the elections, the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAA) has been approved in the country. The implementation of the CAA law has been announced by the Home Ministry in a duly official announcement. After the implementation of CAA, it will now be easier for Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Christians and Parsis from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh to get Indian citizenship.

When was CAA passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha?
The bill was passed for the first time in the Lok Sabha on 9 December 2019. After this, it was passed in the Rajya Sabha on 11 December 2019. The President of the country gave his consent on this issue on 12 December 2019.
