‘Sunflower Ver The First Ones To Know’ beats 17 films
Let us tell you that FTII student Chidanand S Naik’s film Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know defeated 17 films for this award. These films were among the 18 films selected from a huge pool of 2,263 submissions from 555 film schools globally. Cannes will give 15,000 euros for the first prize, 11,250 euros for the second and 7,500 euros for the third.
What is ‘Sunflower Ver The First Ones To Know’, the story of
Upon completion of his one-year course at the television wing of the Film and Television Institute of India, the filmmaker produced this film. It is inspired by a Kannada folk tale depicting the theft of a chicken by an old woman, which plunges her village into never-ending darkness. ‘Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know’ is a 16-minute short film.
