The first Indian filmmaker to win the Grand Prix Award
Let us tell you that Payal Kapadia is the first Indian film maker to win the Grand Prix Award. She is the first female Indian film director in 30 years who presented her film in the main competition. While receiving the award, the star cast of the film ‘All We Imagine As Light’ was also present with Payal. These include Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha and Chhaya Kadam.
The film received an 8-minute standing ovation
‘All We Imagine as Light’ premiered at Cannes on May 23, 2024, where the film received an 8-minute standing ovation. It was one of the longest editions at this year’s film festival.
