In Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, the brother-in-law molested his sister-in-law. A report has been filed against him on the complaint of the woman. On the complaint of the victim, the CO City directed the police station in-charge to take action. After this, the report could be filed. The victim is originally a resident of Nawabganj police station area of Farrukhabad.
The victim got married on July 5, 2018 in Shringar Nagar locality of City Kotwali area. She told that her in-laws have been harassing her since her marriage. Her husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law beat her. Her brother-in-law has an evil eye on her. When she complains, her husband also supports his brother.
She told that on the night of 8th June she was in her room. Then her brother-in-law came in her room. He tried to have sex with her. When she shouted, people of the neighborhood came out of their houses. Seeing people coming, he ran away. People of her in-laws’ house beat her and abused her. Threatening to kill her, they threw her out of the house in the night itself.
The victim along with her father reached the police station on Sunday morning to lodge a report. Here the police did not register the report. The police station in-charge said that the report will be registered only if the complaint is changed. When she refused to remove the name of her brother-in-law from the complaint, she was humiliated and chased away from the police station.
The victim reached the CO City office and complained to the CO City. The CO City instructed the police station in-charge to report. Only after this, on the basis of the victim’s complaint, the police registered a report against the husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. The police is investigating the matter.
