CBSE Board to conduct open book exam soon know full details in Hindi ann


The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is considering Open Book Examination (OBE) for students from class 9th to 12th. This proposal was presented in the Governing Body meeting last year (2023). Which comes under the new National Curriculum Framework. CBSE will soon start the open-book pilot program in some selected schools.

In this program, exams for subjects like English, Maths and Science will be taken for classes 9 and 10 and English, Maths and Biology for classes 11 and 12. The time taken by the students to complete these tests will be noted and feedback from the students will also be taken. The pilot program has been scheduled for November-December. Before adopting it, the board will try to know how effective it is through various types of tests.

The objective of Open Book Exam is higher education strategy which can increase the creative and analytical ability of students. According to CBSE, through this program the problem-solving abilities of the students will be emphasized. CBSE may finalize the design and development of the OBE pilot by June. For which feedback and help has been sought from Delhi University (DU) because Delhi University had started the Open Book Test during the Covid-19 pandemic. There was initial opposition to this initiative, especially by poor and blind students, but with time it was accepted.

OBE Open Book Examination was mentioned on page number 12 of the New National Curriculum Framework 2023. Now it will be designed, developed and reviewed by June 2024. The pilot program will be started in some selected schools in November-December.
