The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently made some important changes in the academic framework for Class 10 and Class 12. These changes are also considered very important. According to reports, 10th class students will have to give papers of 10 subjects instead of five subjects.
According to the report, CBSE will have to study three languages instead of two in class 10th. Out of which at least two languages should be native languages of India. Apart from this, CBSE has proposed to increase the pass criteria in five subjects to 10 in the pass criteria for Class 10 students. At the same time, for class 12th, CBSE has suggested to include students studying two languages instead of one. At least one of which should be a native Indian language. At the same time, students will have to pass the exam in six subjects instead of five.
Its framework also aims to create educational parity between vocational and general education as outlined in the National Education Policy 2020. But there is no organized credit system in the traditional school curriculum. According to the CBSE proposal, an academic year will consist of 1,200 estimated teaching hours or 40 credits. However, CBSE Board will start the 10th class examinations for this session from February 15. Which will run till March 13.
