CCI Ordered to investigate Google Play Store billing policy

Google Play Store: Google has increased its tension after banning some Indian apps from Google Play Store. The Government of India came between Google and Indian companies, ended the tension between them and immediately found a solution to this problem. Now Google has taken 4 months to re-list all the apps on the Play Store, but their tension has not reduced.

Google policy will be investigated

In fact, now India’s antitrust regulator, Competition Commission of India (CCI) has ordered an investigation into Alphabet-owned Google. This government regulatory body of India will investigate the in-app billing system and its policies on Google’s Play Store.

According to the regulatory body, Google has violated the provisions of the country’s antitrust law to implement its billing system. This body of the government has ordered its investigative team to complete the investigation within 60 days. CCI has taken this decision on repeated requests by Indian app developers.

These apps were removed

Let us tell you that Google has included India’s 10 popular apps Alt Balaji, QuackQuack, Truly Madly, Stage, Naukri.com, Shaadi.com. Com), Bharat Matrimony, Kuku FM, 99acres, and Jeevansathi were removed from the Play Store. Google said that these apps have not made payment as per their billing policy and have also refused to make payment.

For this reason, Google had warned to remove all these apps from the Google Play Store, which these app companies of India had earlier challenged in the Madras High Court, but the High Court rejected the petition of these apps. After that, Indian app companies challenged the order of the High Court in the Supreme Court and requested to save the apps from being removed from Google Play Store, but the Supreme Court also rejected this petition of Indian apps. Now it has to be seen what happens in this matter in the coming 4 months.
