According to a video, Raja Singh said on Wednesday that celebrating New Year is not Indian culture. Describing it as a “bad practice”, he said that the youth should be aware of the culture of their native place and should not celebrate anything that is not Indian. He said that the youth of the country should be aware and should not celebrate the new year on January 1.

Raja Singh is seen saying in the video, “Celebrating New Year is not Indian culture, but it is Western culture. This is the culture of those people who ruled India for 200 years. This is a wrong trend and the youth should be aware.” Raja Singh also said that New Year should not be celebrated on January 1 in India as it is celebrated in different states with different names and on different dates.
