Hand Grenade Thrown In Chandigarh: A hand grenade has been thrown at a house in Sector 10 of Chandigarh. According to the information, the glass of the house has broken due to the explosion, however, there have been no casualties in this incident. It is being told that two people travelling in an auto threw the grenade. The police has seized the auto. Dismissed employees of Punjab Police are suspected of carrying out the crime. The police officer who was targeted was posted in Nakodar near Jalandhar. According to the information, he was spied upon in the month of October last year. Punjab Police is also on alert for a joint search with Chandigarh Police.

CSFL and bomb disposal squad on the spot

The CFSL team has reached the spot where a suspicious explosion took place at a house in Sector 10, Chandigarh. Bomb disposal squad and dog squad teams are also present at the spot. Chandigarh Police PRO Dalbir Singh said, “An explosion has taken place in Kothi No. 575. We are investigating it. The CFSL team is present here. This incident took place around 6 pm.”

According to the information, the grenade was suspiciously thrown at Kothi No. 575, owned by retired Shimla University professor KK Malhotra (Australian citizen/aged 95), which is located in Sector 10, Chandigarh. It is being told that this grenade was thrown from inside a moving auto rickshaw. The grenade exploded in the front courtyard of the Kothi where Malhotra’s son was sitting in the lawn.

However, there were no casualties or injuries in the blast apart from some damage to the glass windows. The suspicious autorickshaw has been captured in CCTV cameras installed nearby. At present, Harmanjit Singh Sidhu, son of Sajjan Singh, resident of House No. 16, Dashmesh Nagar, Firozpur city, who runs an Insta channel on trading (by the name of Harmansidhu0025), lives as a tenant on the first floor of the house.

Another tenant here has been identified as Sushma wife of late Ram Sharan Singla resident of Patiala Gate, Nabha. Her daughter Tanvi is undergoing CA training at A Gandhi & Associates (62, Sector-2).
