Chandigarh University signs MoU with Bajaj Auto for Punjab’s first BEST centre


Chandigarh University: 27 June Chandigarh University, India’s top private university, on Thursday partnered with Bajaj Auto Limited to set up Punjab’s first Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) Centre of Excellence at the university campus to provide practical training to 21st century students in contemporary and evolving technologies used in the manufacturing industry.

In this collaboration, Bajaj Auto Limited, through its flagship CSR initiative, BEST, will set up a Centre of Excellence for Advanced Manufacturing Skills at the university campus with CSR funding of Rs 20 crore over three years. The MoU ceremony was held at the Chandigarh University campus in the presence of Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, Vice Chancellor, Chandigarh University, Mr. Hridayesh Parshuram Deshpande, Director General, Chandigarh University and Bajaj Auto officials Mr. Sudhakar Gudipati, VP-CSR, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, VP-HR, Mr. Ramesh V, Head – Skills and Mr. Sumit Dutta, Partnership Manager.

The BEST Centre at Chandigarh University will support youth from economically weaker sections of the society to acquire skills in emerging technologies and enhance their employment opportunities. The collaboration aims to build a strong industry-academia connect and enhance the industry-readiness of students in the emerging industry landscape.

BEST will provide candidates with the skills, knowledge and practical experience needed to be employment-ready. The course is in line with the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and focuses on future-focused topics across four modules.
