However, Azad Samaj Party MP Chandrashekhar Azad has expressed doubts over the opposition’s slogan of the Constitution and the issue of reservation raised by them. He says that he now wants to see what kind of strategy the opposition parties want to work on regarding the Constitution and reservation. In a podcast with news agency ANI, Chandrashekhar, MP from Nagina Lok Sabha seat, told how he was the first to reach out to the people with the issue of Constitution and reservation.
People are having to leave their homes for employment: Chandrashekhar
Chandrashekhar said that there is no employment system in Nagina. People have to go to states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab in search of work. Women have to work in brick kilns and fields. There they do not get wages on time. They even have to face sexual exploitation. He said that there is a huge problem of flood in Nagina. There is no good educational institute here. Whoever has been in power, no work has been done in this direction.
The opposition has taken the constitution too seriously: Chandrashekhar Azad
Talking about the Constitution, Chandrashekhar Azad said, “Right now there are issues at the national level, like the matter of promotion reservation, on which no one is talking. The opposition people have taken up the Constitution a lot. Now I will see what they will do in the backlog. Now I am also going to see what they are going to do on caste census and women empowerment. I am also going to see the opposition on what is to be done for the protection of women.”
In fact, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav are constantly putting forward the issues of women. They have already been cornering the ruling party on the issue of constitution and a strong demand has also been made for caste census. These are some issues which are related to Dalit and backward society. It is believed that the way Chandrashekhar has made inroads in this society, keeping that in mind, now Rahul and Akhilesh have also had to change their strategy.
