Chhapra. On hearing the name of Rasgulla, you must be remembering Bengali Rasgulla. Even in Chhapra, a Bengali family has been making Rasgullas for the last 100 years and its Rasgullas are so famous that along with Chhapra, people from nearby districts also come to eat them. About 100 years ago, this Bengali family started making Rasgulla and gradually it became so famous that the street where Ghosh sweets shop was located became famous as Rasgulla Gali.

Abhijit Ghosh, who is handling this legacy of Rasgulla, told that his father had started it and today he is taking this legacy forward. Even today people who used to eat Rasgulla from his father come to his shop and after getting the same taste, congratulate him and wish him well.

Thousands of Rasgullas are made every day
Earlier this rasgulla was made by hand but now the demand for rasgulla is so high that this family has installed a fully automatic machine. Today, thousands of rasgulla are made daily in his factory, but he has not left his old style and takes full care of purity as well as quality.

Rasgullas are being made for 100 years
Many fake people had also opened shop in Chhapra in the name of Ghosh Mishthan. But people rejected it and even today a small shop is feeding the people of Chhapra the Rasgulla made 100 years ago. Abhijeet Ghosh says that his family has settled in Chhapra itself and seeing the love and affection of the people of Chhapra, the journey of Rasgulla will continue in the future.

What is the cost of Rasgulla?
Abhijit Ghosh said, ‘Very cheap and good Rasgulla is given at my place. Because of which the crowd of people gathers. He said that a Rasgulla is sold for ₹ 10 pieces. While ₹ 250 kg Chena Rasgulla is made available to the people here. Whose taste is very good and whoever tastes it once, comes to buy it again to eat it.

The journey will continue
He further said, ‘With the confidence with which people come to my place to buy sweets. With the same confidence, I will continue to feed Chhena sweets to people. He also said that this is the heritage given by my ancestors, I do not want to lose it and I would not like to lose the love and affection that Chhapra residents get.
