Legal action has been tightened in another case of hate speech by SP leader Azam Khan. Charges have been framed against SP leader Azam Khan in the case of hate speech in the court. SP leaders appeared from Sitapur jail through video conferencing. The court has now summoned the witnesses in this case by issuing summons.

The hearing of this case will take place on February 28. There are many cases of hate speech registered against SP leader Azam Khan which are pending in the court. In a case of hate speech, the court has sentenced him to two years’ imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2.5 thousand.

His appeal was rejected by the Sessions Court on 23 January. He is currently serving a seven-year sentence in the case of two birth certificates of his son Abdullah Azam Khan. Azam is in Sitapur jail while his son Abdullah Azam Khan is lodged in Hardoi jail and his wife Dr. Tanzin Fatma is lodged in Rampur jail.

The case on which legal action has been taken against the SP leader. That case pertains to the fort grounds of the city police station area. SP leader Azam Khan had given a hate speech during the Lok Sabha by-election at the Fort grounds. This incident happened on December 1, 2022.

Suresh Kumar, in-charge of the video surveillance team, had filed a case in the city police station. In which the SP leader was accused of giving hate speech. After investigation, the police filed the charge sheet in the court. This matter is pending in the court.

On Tuesday, the court framed charges against Azam Khan. The court has framed charges under sections 153 A, 505 (1) B of the IPC and 125 Representation of the People Act. The court has summoned the witness by issuing summons.

Senior prosecution officer Amarnath Tiwari said that charges have been framed against Azam Khan. The next hearing of this case will be on February 28.

Testimony of the investigator completed in three cases of Dungarpur

Investigative Inspector Ramveer Singh has recorded his statements against SP leader Azam Khan in three cases of robbery and assault in the name of vacating Dungarpur colony. This matter is related to Ganj police station area. There are 12 such cases registered in which SP leader Azam Khan has been acquitted in one case.

Analyst Ramveer Singh, who investigated against the SP leader in three similar cases, recorded his statements. ADGC Seema Singh Rana said that investigator Ramveer Singh reached the court and testified. His testimony is complete. The hearing of this case will be on 16 February.
