The court has ordered framing of charges of corruption and criminal conspiracy against Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal and three others. Besides Maliwal, there is sufficient evidence to prosecute former commission members Promila Gupta, Sarika Chowdhary and Farheen Malik, the court said. All are accused of appointing AAP workers in the Commission by misusing their position.
Now Delhi BJP has become an aggressor regarding Swati Maliwal regarding this issue. BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has demanded the immediate removal of Maliwal from the Delhi CM. BJP leader Bagga attacked Swati Maliwal, chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, through Twitter, calling her a staunch thief.
Barkha Shukla, former chairperson of the Delhi Womenâs Commission, said that after 2015, appointments were not made in the Delhi Womenâs Commission as per the rules. Salary is given in huge amount. This is cheating on you. The education level and social work experience of recruits were not verified.
Explain that Special Judge DIG Vinay Singh said that it is clear from observing the work of DCW meetings held on different dates that all the four accused had signed. As such, there is sufficient evidence to point to a prima facie strong suspicion that the appointments in question were made by the accused. None of the three accused, except Maliwal, ever objected to the illegal appointments or gave any note of dissent. Rather it was claimed that decisions were taken unanimously in those meetings.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered a case on the complaint of former DCW chairperson and former BJP MLA Barkha Shukla Singh. The prosecution had claimed that between August 6, 2015 and August 1, 2016, 90 appointments were made in the DCW. Of these, 71 people were appointed on contract while 16 were appointed for âDial 181â crisis helpline.
