Chetan Puri seller’s shop located near Hanuman Temple in Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, has been serving delicious Puri and Kachori to the people for the last four decades. People come here not only from the country but also from abroad to taste them. Shopkeeper Chetan Prasad’s father also used to cook. After inheriting the taste from his father, Chetan Prasad started a small shop in the year 1977 and then he started the magic of his hands. Chetan Prasad, the owner of this famous shop in Dehradun, says that he had started this work for his own employment but he had no idea that the tourists coming here from abroad would ever come to taste his Puri-Kachori and Bollywood actors would also like him. Will appreciate the taste. Since childhood, he loved cooking and feeding others. Many actors have also come to his shop to taste Puri-Kachori. Actor Vivek Oberoi himself came to his shop to eat puri while Shatrughan Sinha was staying in the hotel, so he ordered puri there. The price of thali increased from Rs 4 to Rs 100.
Chetan Prasad tells that the price of one of his thali is Rs 100, in which four puris, chickpeas, juicy potato vegetable, dry potato-fenugreek vegetable, onion with chutney, spicy fried red chilli and raita are available. Initially the price of this thali used to be ₹4. Shopkeepers of Paltan Bazaar tell that we also eat puri at their place and if guests come to our place, we feed them also.
