The jail administration is accused of beating and torturing the prisoners every day. But this time the family members of the deceased have accused the jail administration of beating a drunken youth to death in Chhapra Divisional Jail. It is alleged that the undertrial prisoner died due to excessive beating in the jail. After the death of the undertrial prisoner who was in judicial custody, his family members created a ruckus in the Sadar Hospital premises. On receiving information about the ruckus, the local Bhagwan Bazaar and Nagar police station police reached Sadar Hospital and started convincing the family members.

According to the information, four days ago, on the late evening of July 10, a youth named Sunil Rai was arrested by the police in a drunken state near Brahmapur locality of Bhagwan Bazaar area. After that, as per the rules, he was sent to Mandal Jail Chapra after medical examination by the police officers. But late on Saturday night, Sunil’s health suddenly deteriorated. After that, he was sent to Sadar Hospital for treatment by the jail administration. Where he died during treatment.

On receiving the news of the death, the family members of the deceased reached Sadar Hospital. As soon as they arrived, they became angry and started a ruckus in the Sadar Hospital premises. The family members allege that the youth was brutally beaten up by the jail and police administration, due to which he died. However, the senior police officials are still avoiding saying anything in this matter. Here, the family members are demanding the district administration to investigate the entire matter and take action against the guilty policemen. However, a large number of police forces have been deployed to control the situation in the hospital.
