Farmers who have turned to horticulture crops with the help of the government include Krishan Dutt, a farmer from Koriya district of Chhattisgarh, who used to grow paddy and maize on his 5 acres of land in Mahora village of Baikunthpur development block, but with some of the old methods He was not earning much, but with the help of Horticulture Department, he is earning good profit by cultivating vegetables.

Income increased with the help of Horticulture Department
Vegetable producer farmer Krishna Dutt says that after coming in contact with the Horticulture Department, he got information about the National Horticulture Mission. The Horticulture Department gave the benefit of 70 percent grant to install drip irrigation system for irrigation in the field. After this, after spending Rs 1 lakh 29 thousand in 2.5 acres of land, he started cultivating vegetables with the help of new techniques.

Today, Krishna Dutt grows cabbage, chilli, brinjal, tomato, pumpkin and papaya crops in his fields, which is earning 8 to 10 lakhs in a year. Apart from drip irrigation, benefits are also being received from Pack House Scheme, Shade Net Scheme, Power Weeder Scheme and DBT Scheme.

Krishna Dutt, who grew vegetables leaving the path of traditional farming, says that there has been a lot of profit in farming with the help of drip irrigation system. Due to this, vegetable crops are prepared by drop-drop irrigation in less consumption of water.

Through this modern irrigation system, farmer brothers can easily irrigate their fields or fruit-vegetable gardens. With this technique, irrigation is done directly in the roots of the crop, so that along with balanced amount of water, nutrients can also reach.
