An innocent child died after being electrocuted by an electric pole in Khaira village of Chhawla in Dwarka district on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Kaif Mohammad (12). Actually, after the storm and rain in Delhi on Tuesday, BSES poles were electrocuted.

After the rain, the innocent child came out of his house to play in the street. Meanwhile, as soon as he touched the pole, he got a strong electric shock. After getting information from the neighbours, the family immediately ran to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital with the innocent child, where he was declared dead. After receiving the news, police reached the spot. The body was taken into custody and sent to the mortuary for post-mortem. After initial investigation, police have registered a case of death due to negligence and started investigation.

District Police Deputy Commissioner says that after investigation, action will be taken against whoever is found guilty of the accident. The police handed over the body to the family after post-mortem on Wednesday. According to the police, Kaif Mohammad lived with his family in Khaira village, Chhawla. His family consists of father Jamal Khan, mother and two elder brothers. Kaif was a class six student in a nearby government school. His father works as a house construction contractor. Kaif came out of the house to play after the rain on Tuesday evening.

There is an electric pole in the street about 50 meters away from the house. After reaching there, as soon as Kaif touched the pillar, he suddenly got a strong electric shock and fell there. Neighbors went home and informed the family about the accident. His family took him to the hospital. He was later declared dead. After the accident, Kaif Mohammad’s family is in bad condition and crying. He says that the accident happened due to the negligence of BSES. Strictest action should be taken against them. On Wednesday, the family members laid the body of the innocent child to ashes after post-mortem. Police are investigating through CCTV cameras installed nearby.
