Netty’s House of Spaghetti in Tinton Falls announced on social media on Friday that they will no longer serve children under the age of 10 starting March 8. The outlet announced its decision on Facebook.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant said, ‘We love kids. We really do. But lately, adjusting to Nettie’s kids has been extremely challenging. Between the noise, the lack of space for high chairs, the cleanliness of the mess and the responsibility of children running around the restaurant, we have decided it is time to take control of the situation. This was not a decision that was taken lightly, but some recent incidents have forced us to implement this new policy.
“Starting March 8, the day we return from our winter break, we will not allow children under the age of 10 to eat in restaurants,” the outlet said in its post. The restaurant further said, ‘We know that this decision is going to upset some of you. There will be trouble especially for those who come with very well behaved children. But we believe that this is the right decision to take our business forward. The restaurant ended its message by saying, ‘Thank you for your understanding’
While replying to a user, Netty even commented that children ‘have become a burden for us’. The restaurant said that children run around the restaurant in a circle carrying food plates and serving them to the diners, which makes our work extremely difficult. As soon as the announcement was made public, netizens started pouring in comments with varied opinions. While some criticized the decision, others claimed that it would make it easier to eat.
