China Coronavirus: Corona cases are not taking the name of decreasing in China. The government may have relaxed the Zero Covid policy in view of the protests by the citizens, but perhaps it has not made any difference to the cases of Corona. A health advisor to the Chinese government has said that China is facing a surge in COVID-19 cases after partially easing aspects of its so-called Zero COVID policy.
On Sunday, top epidemiologist Zhong Nanshan told in an interview to the government media that the cases of corona may increase rapidly in the coming times as the government has started relaxing the Kovid restrictions. Zhong Nanshan has attributed the relaxation of the zero covid policy and the decline in corona testing mainly to the new cases.
Corona, Demonstration and Zero Covid Policy
It is noteworthy that in the past, there was a significant increase in the cases of corona in China, after which the government strictly implemented the Zero Covid policy. Citizens started protesting against the Corona restrictions and thousands of people took to the streets. The demonstrations took a violent form. After this, the Chinese government was forced to reconsider its decisions and as a result restrictions were relaxed in many states.
