India Post Phishing Scam: Cybercrime cases are constantly increasing. Now in this episode, a new scam has come to light, which is linked to a China-based hacking group. This group is known as Smishing Triad which is making people of India its victims. The worrying thing is that the target of this group is the users of the postal system (India Post) operated by the Government of India.

Hackers are sending fake messages to iPhone users saying that a package has arrived at India Post which they can collect and malware websites are being used for this. This group has been active since January.

The countries that the China-based hacking group is targeting include big countries like India and the US. In India, people are being targeted through phishing campaigns, while in the United States, they are targeting normal users.

How is the group preying on users?

Scammers lure Indian users with fake packages from India Post and ask users for their personal details and credit card information. Along with this, an alert has been issued to users not to share their personal information with anyone. Along with this, change the password of your iPhone immediately and use strong passwords.

Hackers send messages to iPhone users via iMessage and give information about fake packages. If you accidentally open these messages, your personal details and credit card information are asked so that cyber fraud can be done with you.
