In Agra, the electricity bill was due in the name of Chutanki and the criminals disconnected Malti’s connection. The family of Malti, a resident of Charsu Darwaja, is in the dark for a month.

In house number 15/280 of Charsu Darwaja, Malti Devi had taken a one kilowatt electricity connection from Torrent Power in the year 2012. From 2012 till now, he did not have any outstanding dues of DVVNL and Torrent. A month ago the electricity workers came and disconnected Malti saying she owed Rs 6 lakh.

On enquiry, it was told that electricity bill of Rs. 6 lakh is outstanding in the name of Chutanki and Bhagwan Das at house number 15/280, the electricity connection will be connected only after paying the same. After the death of her husband, Malti Devi is somehow able to send her children to school. Their children’s education is also being affected due to darkness.

There were outstanding electricity bills at Mohini Devi’s shop in Maruti Estate, there is Ravi’s shop in the neighborhood, who applied for a new connection, but due to Mohini Devi’s dues, Ravi is not being given the connection.

Councilor Hemant Prajapati told that when no one had written the dues in the electricity bill for 12 years, then how suddenly the lights were cut off. This is exploitation of the poor. Higher officials should investigate this and take action.
