Last week, the University of Milan in Egypt told the world about a historic discovery. They said that their archaeologists excavated a place in southern Egypt and found a huge city of the dead there. Actually, there are about 300 to 400 graves together under the ground at this place. The most surprising thing is that all these graves have been found near the tomb of Aga Khan in Aswan in southern Egypt.
Why are there so many corpses here?
Professor Patrizia of Milan University, while talking to the media, says that from the sixth century BC to the second century AD, this part of the land was used for burying graves. This is the reason why so many dead bodies are being found here today. Most of these dead bodies have been buried as mummies. This is the reason why some dead bodies are still preserved. Patrizia says that although these dead bodies have started being found recently, but excavation at this place started in the year 2019 itself.
There were also attempts to loot these graves
Regarding these tombs, archaeologists say that they were looted during the Greco-Roman period. But even after this looting, hundreds of graves are present here today. These graves have been preserved in such a way that you cannot even imagine. One of these graves is such in which a small child is lying on top of an adult woman. Perhaps both of them died together. But this scene was very emotional. Archaeologists say that many such mummified bodies have been found in these graves.
