Troubled by the Education Ministry’s order not to admit students below 16 years of age or before class 12 in coaching institutes, private teachers and operators of private coaching institutes met BJP MP Satish Gautam and expressed their problems.
Coaching operators told the MP that they have no objection to almost all the points of the guidelines issued by the Education Ministry, but banning the entry of students below 16 years of age into coaching is beyond comprehension. The directors said that students up to the age of 16 need the most care and support in their studies. Based on psychology, this is the most appropriate age to learn, so that students can prepare themselves for future competitive examinations.
Most of the parents are also unable to give study related guidelines to their children. For this, they need subject expert teachers, who are available through coaching institutes. Parents bring their children to coaching institutes only for better education. It is the desire of the children to join coaching institutes, there is no pressure of any kind. What about those students who need extra guidance to crack the entrance examinations of AMU, Banaras Hindu University, Sainik School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. On one hand, the government makes various schemes to promote skill development and self-reliance.
On the other hand, lakhs of educated and qualified people who are earning their living through coaching will become unemployed. On this occasion, Dharmendra Mallyan, Director of Dev Classes, Mazhar Siddiqui, Director of Duty Society, Manish Yadav, Director of Avanti Classes, Zaid Ali, Naresh Rajput, Director of Drishti Coaching, Aiman Bilgrami, Director of Synergy Coaching, Purushottam, SK Sharma of JMD Academy, DK Singh, Sadiq Hasan from BRICS Coaching, Vikas from Catalyst Coaching, Vineet Sharma, Director of Vineet Coaching etc. were present.
Will talk to Education Minister: MP
MP Satish Gautam assured private teachers and operators of private coaching institutes that he will talk to the Union Education Minister and give them a suggestion letter. Would request them to consider the decision to ban students below 16 years of age from coaching. Along with parents and teachers, the needs of the students should also be taken care of.
