Venugopal expressed objection to Jarkiholi meetings!

Let us tell you that due to the MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) site allotment issue, questions are constantly being raised about Siddaramaiah as to who will be his successor. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar visited Siddaramaiah’s residence and met him. During this, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal was also present. Speaking on behalf of the high command, Venugopal made it clear that they were not happy with some ministers holding separate meetings, which were being seen as a move to weaken Siddaramaiah’s leadership. Venugopal was probably referring to the meetings held on behalf of Jarkiholi.

Jarkiholi is also Siddaramaiah’s first choice!

According to political analysts, when the time comes to leave the post, it is common for a leader to recommend someone loyal to him for his post. If such a situation arises then Satish Jarkiholi is Siddaramaiah’s first choice. According to sources, Jarkiholi has the support of around 40 MLAs, who are mainly from Dalit and backward communities. His family includes three MLAs, one MP, one MLC and several political relatives who wield considerable influence in North Karnataka.

More than 40 MLAs are with Jarkiholi

Following growing speculation about Siddaramaiah’s tenure, Satish Jarkiholi recently met All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi. He also met a group of about 40 Dalit and Backward Class MLAs and his recent visit to Mysuru to consult cabinet colleagues further fueled the talk of his chief ministerial ambitions. Public functions were organized by his supporters in Belagavi and posters declaring him as the next Chief Minister were prominently displayed.

BJP President’s meeting gave rise to different discussions

Last week, at Jarkiholi’s house in Bengaluru, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra’s visit further added to the political excitement as there was speculation that if Jarkiholi takes charge of the new government before the end of Siddaramaiah’s term, the BJP may support him.

What clarification did Jarkiholi give?

At the same time, Satish Jarkiholi reiterated his commitment towards Siddaramaiah and said that he will not try to change his political guru before 2028. He said, “I will not snatch my guru’s seat. He will continue in the post till his tenure ends and I will try for the post after 2028.”
