Amid the changed political atmosphere in Delhi after the arrest of AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in excise policy, Congress has started the process of deciding candidates afresh. Congress has started conducting surveys on its three seats. Congress has also included in the survey the names of those leaders who had recently refused to contest the elections. In fact, these leaders have now expressed their desire to contest elections. State Congress President Arvinder Singh Lovely is also included in these.
The Congress high command is trying to field strong candidates in its constituency Chandni Chowk, North East and North West Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi. In this context, it has started conducting surveys regarding the candidates on all three seats. It has been decided to inquire about the status of three to four leaders on all three seats. According to sources, the Congress high command is conducting a survey in Chandni Chowk as well as in the North East region in relation to former MPs Jaiprakash Aggarwal and Sandeep Dixit.
The survey is also exploring the possibility of former MLA Alka Lamba in Chandni Chowk area. At the same time, in the North East region, State President Arvinder Singh Lovely, former State President Ch. Information is being given about the strength of Anil Kumar, senior state Congress leader Chatar Singh and former JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar. On the other hand, in North West Delhi area, a survey is being conducted about former MP Udit Raj, former minister Rajkumar Chauhan, former MLA Surendra Kumar. However, the Congress high command has promised to field Udit Raj as its candidate in this area.
