New Delhi. There will be relief soon from the water problem in Delhi. The government is working in this direction on a war footing. Ground water is being recharged by renovation and new construction of lakes. The government is making 26 lakes and 380 water bodies in Delhi. With which Delhi will not only become a city of lakes, but will also get rid of the water problem. Not only this, the amount of oxygen in the water of the lakes will be increased by installing aerators so that the water becomes potable.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inspected the Pappan Kalan Sewage Treatment Plant on Saturday. On this occasion, he told that the government will construct 26 lakes in an area of 300 acres. 230 MGD treated water will be put in it. By repairing the lakes, Delhi will become a city of lakes and will get rid of the water problem. The amount of oxygen in the water is being increased so that the water becomes potable. The ground water level has risen by 6.25 meters within half a kilometer radius of Pappan Kalan lake. On this occasion, Water Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that before the formation of ‘AAP’ government, there was no water in Dwarka. The Chief Minister brought water to this area. Delhi government will make beautiful walking track and park in Pappan Kalan lake, which people will be able to enjoy.

21st century technology is being adopted
The Chief Minister said that the Delhi government is recharging and recycling ground water at its own level by becoming self-sufficient. Many such techniques have come in the 21st century, with the help of which groundwater can be recharged and recycled. Many such experiments have also taken place across the country. The Delhi government is making efforts in this direction in the capital. The sewage treatment plant’s water is being cleaned up to 10 out of 10 purity and is being poured into the lakes. On this basis, two artificial lakes of seven and four acres have been made in Pappan Kalan lake. Treated water of STP is released inside these lakes. The beauty of this area has increased due to the formation of the lake. The advantage of the artificial lake is that by pouring treated water inside the lake for one year, the ground water level has increased in the area of half a kilometer around it. The ground water level has increased by 6.25 metres. Whereas earlier the ground water level of the area had gone down by 20 metres. According to Jal Board officials, now water is available in this area only after digging 13 meters of land up to half a kilometer away. Piezometers are being installed in the area around the lake, which will tell how much the ground water level has increased.

birds coming to wetland built on lakes
Many wetlands have been created inside these artificial lakes. Because of this, many types of birds are also coming here. This has made the whole environment very beautiful. Getting this kind of environment within the environment of Delhi is a great achievement in itself. Similarly, 26 lakes are being made. Out of which 16 are artificial lakes. Apart from this, there are 10 natural lakes in Delhi, whose water has completely dried up. Now only pits are left there. The Delhi government will give a new look to these lakes by filling them with water.

Corrected 35 small water bodies
The Chief Minister further said that water bodies built in an area of less than two and a half acres are called small water bodies. The Delhi government has already restored 35 small water bodies. At the same time, there are a total of 380 small water bodies in the whole of Delhi, which the government will fix. CM said that in this way two works will be done in Delhi. On one hand Delhi will become a city of lakes and on the other hand the water level in Delhi will increase. The method of extracting water by recharging and recycling ground water will prove to be very successful in solving the water problem inside Delhi. After September, the water of the lake of Pappan Kalan will be used for drinking.
