A senior police officer told that the software is ready. Trial is going on now. Fake URLs of banks etc. will be detected by this software. Security officials are calling it a big step by the Delhi Police.
Ministry of Home Affairs launched helpline number 155260
The Ministry of Home Affairs launched the helpline number 155260 on April 1, 2021 to keep an eye on cyber fraudsters. Its reporting platform was set up by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. They keep an eye on cyber fraudsters. A Home Ministry official said that in the last one month, mobile numbers of about 1.5 lakh fraudsters have been blocked. This Home Ministry official said that at present only mobile numbers used in forgery are blocked. The mobile number given by other agencies including Delhi Police is blocked only. If a number is wrongly blocked, it is sent back to the security agencies to get it checked again.
Number will be removed automatically
The senior officer said that this software is being designed in such a way that the fraudster’s number will be immediately removed from Google and will identify that number and inform it to the police officers. It is being told that this system will be implemented if the trial is successful. This will curb the incidents of online fraud. The Delhi Police official refused to divulge anything about the software as it is on trial stage.
