Counting Centre: If you see any irregularity in the counting centre, where can you complain?


There are many people from the opposition party who claim that there is a mistake in the counting of votes during the elections. They suspect that there is a problem with the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). If you also see any problem in the counting center, then you can file a complaint for it. 

Irregularities at counting centre

Before complaining, if you see someone trying to enter the counting centre, you can complain against that person. Apart from this, if a person does any kind of activity near the counting centre which makes him suspicious, you can complain against him. Not only this, after the results are out, if you are not happy with the result, you can complain that there was some problem in the EVM machine. For this, you will have to challenge it in the court."text-align: justify;">File a complaint within 24 hours

If you see any person holding a weapon in the counting centre, you can also complain against him. As soon as you suspect any irregularity at the counting centre, you should immediately complain about it. If you complain about it some time after the irregularity, it is of no use. Because the Election Commission has set a time limit of only 24 hours for making a complaint.  

How to complain

You can complain directly to the Election Commission. A control room has been set up in the Election House office in Delhi for complaints. You can complain to the control room by phone, email or fax. To complain, you can call the control room number 0112305 2219 or 2305 2162 or mail to its email ID complaints@eci.gov.in. Apart from this, you can dial the toll free number 1950 of the Election Commission.

Complain to the District Collector

As soon as you tell your complaint on phone through this toll free number, after which the complaint tracking number comes on your phone. By tracking which you can find out, at what level the action on the complaint has reached. Instead of complaining to the Election Commission, you can complain about it in your area. For this you will have to inform the District Collector about it. Because the Collector works as the District Election Officer. For this you can go to the Collector’s office or you will find the Collector near the counting area.
