Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court rejected the bail application of accused MLA Abbas Ansari in money laundering case. A single bench of Justice Jaspreet Singh gave this order on the bail application of Abbas Ansari. Ansari had requested to be released on bail in the case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

There are allegations in the ED case that Ansari used two firms for money laundering. In which a huge amount of money was transferred from here to there through alleged forgery, fraud and fraud. In this, a huge amount was deposited and withdrawn from Ansari’s account. Whose source he could not tell. ED’s counsel opposed Ansari’s bail application with this argument.

On the other hand, the advocate on behalf of accused Ansari argued that Ansari had no direct or indirect connection with M/s Vikas Constructions firm. Nor was he aware of the alleged crime. Said that some amount was deposited in Ansari’s account through his mother or uncle. Which was used to import weapons for the competition. Which cannot be considered as action towards crime by Abbas Ansari.

The court considered this argument unbelievable saying that Abbas is a sitting MLA and elected public representative. The High Court said that prima facie the court is not satisfied that Abbas Ansari is not guilty or would not be able to commit crime if granted bail. With this comment the court refused to grant bail to Abbas Ansari. Also ordered the trial court to complete the trial of the case soon.
