Dr Arora said, “Whatever we have found, it does not mean that we are getting any new variant.” He said, “In Delhi, we have even taken sewage sample but we do not see any new variant or possibility of spread of epidemic in the coming weeks. Earlier, the government had talked about having all the variants of Omicron in the country. The Union Health Ministry had said, “All variants of Omicron have been found in Sentinel sequencing of 324 Kovid positive samples. omicron Sub-variants ranging from BA.2 and XBB to BQ.1 including all other sub-variants are spreading in the air, but it is a matter of relief that there has been no increase in corona cases or covid death rate due to the presence of these variants. .”

Positivity rate is under control

The rate of infection of the epidemic is still under control. In a statement, the health ministry said, “In areas where these variants have been detected, no increase in mortality or infection cases has been reported.” These samples were taken from international passengers. The statement said that XBB (11), BQ1.1 (12) and BF7.4.1 (1) variants were found in positive samples of 50 international passengers. Genome sequencing of the sample was done.
