In the Cow Parliament held for the first time on Tuesday in Magh Mela, with the consent of the Shankaracharyas of all the four benches, a resolution was passed by voice vote to give the status of Mother of the Nation to the cow. During this period, a 21-point manifesto was issued on the basis of the decisions taken in Go-Sansad. This prominently includes bringing provision of death penalty for cow slaughter, separating cow from the list of animals and forming a Cow Ministry and feeding cow milk to children instead of nutritious food in the mid-day meal in schools. A copy of this proposal will be sent to the Central Government on Wednesday.

Cow Sansad started at 12 noon on Tuesday at Shankaracharya’s camp of Jyotishpeeth located in Sector 3. The agenda was first read out in the presence of Jyotishpeethadhishwar Swami Avimukteshwaranand and Dwarka-Sharda Peethadhishwar Swami Sadanand Maharaj. After this, a video message sent by Shankaracharya Bharati Teerth of Sringeri Peeth was broadcast. In this, it was said on behalf of Shankaracharya of Sringeri that cow is present in the consciousness of Indian culture. The basic soul of culture should be protected by declaring it the mother of the nation.
