Noida Cricket Stadium Scam Case: There has been a strong reaction from the Allahabad High Court on the issue of corruption. The petitioner allegedly conspired with officials of the Noida Development Authority and siphoned off crores of rupees from public funds released for the construction of a cricket stadium along with a pavilion building at a joint sports complex in the city, reported news agency PTI. It is alleged that Hangal conspired with Yadav Singh, Engineer-in-Chief of Noida Authority, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, for the scam through his private limited company.

Delivering the verdict, Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh said, “While considering an anticipatory or regular bail application, the court has to consider the nature of the offense and if the offense is serious and big, especially in the case of economic offence, then the court has to refuse bail.” Should be done.” Justice Singh also said, “Corruption is such a scourge that is eating the pulse of the country’s economy.”
What is the matter?
An FIR was registered against Hangal on 13 January 2012 at the Sector 39 police station in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. On 16 July 2015, the High Court passed an order, through which the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI. CBI had filed a supplementary charge sheet file after investigating the case.
The court, after going through the CBI investigation report and hearing the arguments of other parties, found Hangal involved in a conspiracy to embezzle public money. The cricket stadium was being built by Anand Buildtech Private Limited Company. The director of this company is the present petitioner i.e. Hangal who is also a major partner in it. The court observed that the allegations and the investigation report show that the present petitioner and other co-accused responsible for the construction of the stadium had hatched a deep-rooted conspiracy to misappropriate public funds.
