After the pond in Kapasia village of Sikandrarao, now a crocodile has been seen in the canal too, which has increased the fear of the villagers. This crocodile is roaming freely on the canal tracks. The villagers are also making videos of it.
It is noteworthy that about a month ago a six-foot crocodile was seen in the village pond. It preyed on several dogs, goats and herons. On the complaint of the villagers, the village head and the forest department team made efforts to empty the pond to catch the crocodile. The water of the pond was drained out by running the pump set for about eight days, but after the rain the pond was filled again, due to which the efforts to remove the crocodile proved insufficient.
Meanwhile, another crocodile was seen in the canal that runs outside the village. The villagers are scared because they graze their goats on the canal track and this crocodile also roams there.
Now the crocodile has left the pond and gone towards the drain. We have formed teams to search for it, which are searching for the crocodile during the day as well as at night.-Dilip Kumar, Forest Range Officer, Sikandrarao.
